Some salary news!

After some re-arrangements at my company after it was acquired, it wasn’t entirely clear whether we’d getting rasies or bonuses at work this year. Previous to this, comp discussions had almost always been a natural part of the performance review process, which is why a few of us were surprized why leadership has been pretty tight-lipped about compensation updates.

But great news! As of last week, I found out that I did indeed get a $7,000 raise and a $3,000 bonus! This brings my salary up to $87,000. I’m super happy about this, and I’m on my way to $100K+. My company warned me not to expect this type of raise every year, that this was a somewhat unique circumstance. The raise money is related to both my performance and also to a gobal salary audit that the company conducted which identified which roles were being underpaid when compared to their American counterparts.

What I find so interesting about this, is that I was looking over some personal goal documents I previously filled out with my manager about 5 months ago, and I noticed that I wrote down (and expressed to her verbally) that I wanted to get to $90K within the next 12 months. And now here I am with $87K + $3K bonus = $90,000! Am I manifesting? lol

I’m still trying to decide what to do with the money. I’ll either invest in ETFs, invest in a side hustle business, or invest in my education via a certificate program I’d like to take soon. Maybe a little of each.

I’m over the moon and I’m going to keep shooting for more.
